Privacy policy
Plain language, because you should actually be able to tell what we do with your information. Last updated 1 September 2026.
Who we are
Scale Owners is a marketing services company operating from California, United States. You can reach us any time at hello@scaleowners.com.
When you send an application
We collect your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you tell us about your brand — the brand name, website, what stage you're at, what you're interested in, your spend range, and any notes you write. We also record whether you told us you'd pick up the phone.
We use it to reply to you and to work out whether we're a fit. It goes to us by email and is stored in our own dashboard. We don't sell it, rent it, or hand it to anyone who isn't helping us run the business.
When you use the scanner
We record the address you scanned, the score it produced, and which findings came up. We keep this to see whether the tool is useful and to improve the rules behind it. If you paste page source instead of a URL, that source is analysed entirely in your own browser and is never sent to us.
When you just visit
We record which pages are viewed and, where available, the country and city your network reports and which site sent you. We do not store your IP address. Instead we turn it into a short scrambled code that can't be reversed, so we can tell one visitor from another without knowing who anyone is.
Cookies and storage
We don't use advertising cookies on this site. Your browser stores a small amount of information locally to remember that you've already used the free scan, and to keep our own staff signed into the dashboard. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Advertising measurement
We run ads on TikTok, and the TikTok pixel is installed on this site. It sets cookies and records that a page was viewed, that a scan was completed, that the course was downloaded, and that an application was sent. TikTok uses this to measure whether its ads work and to show ads to people who look like our visitors.
We also use TikTok's Automatic Advanced Matching. When you submit the application form, this reads the email address and phone number you typed, scrambles them using a one-way hash, and sends the scrambled version to TikTok. TikTok compares it against its own records to work out whether you're one of their users, which tells us whether an ad led to your application.
We want to be straight about what that means: a hash is not the same as anonymous. It can't be read back into your email address, but it is designed to let TikTok recognise you. Your actual email and phone number are never sent to TikTok in readable form, and we don't upload contact lists or build audiences from people who have applied.
If you'd rather not be measured this way, TikTok's own ad settings let you limit it, and any browser setting or extension that blocks trackers will stop it working here.
Who else touches your information
We use a small number of companies to run the site. Vercel hosts it. Upstash stores our dashboard records. Resend sends our email. These providers process information on our behalf and under their own security terms. Nobody else receives it.
How long we keep it
Applications are kept while we're in contact and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back. Scan and page records are kept in a rolling log that overwrites the oldest entries. You can ask us to delete anything about you and we'll do it.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. If you're in California, that includes the rights the CCPA gives you, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We don't sell personal information and never have. Email hello@scaleowners.com and we'll handle it.
Children
This site is for business owners. It isn't intended for anyone under 18 and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change how any of this works, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
